Child Safety Standards

Last updated: March 2025

PetMatcha is committed to protecting children and preventing child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) on our platform. These standards outline our practices and how we comply with child safety laws.

Our Commitment

PetMatcha does not tolerate child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any form of child sexual exploitation. We take proactive measures to prevent, detect, and remove such content, and we cooperate fully with law enforcement and relevant authorities.

Prevention Practices

  • Age verification: Users must be 18 or older to create an account. We use sign-in providers (Apple, Google) that support age verification.
  • Content moderation: Pet profiles and photos are subject to our content policies. We prohibit any content that exploits or endangers minors.
  • Prohibited content: We explicitly prohibit CSAM, child sexual exploitation, and any content that sexualizes minors. Violations result in immediate account termination and reporting to authorities.
  • User reporting: Users can report concerning content or behavior in-app. All reports are reviewed promptly.

Reporting Child Safety Concerns

If you encounter content or behavior that may involve child sexual abuse or exploitation:

  1. In-app: Use the Report feature on any profile or in chat.
  2. Email: Contact our designated child safety team at tywotaiwo@gmail.com. This contact is monitored and prepared to discuss our CSAM prevention practices and compliance.
  3. Authorities: We report to regional and national authorities as required by law. If you have direct knowledge of CSAM, please also report to your local law enforcement or to NCMEC CyberTipline (US).

Compliance

PetMatcha complies with applicable child safety laws, including reporting obligations to regional and national authorities. We cooperate with law enforcement investigations and preserve evidence when required.
